TCC Pre-Conference: Final Live Tours & Final Preparation: Part I
Aloha Everyone:
The TCC 2007 Online Conference, "Blending Community and Multimedia in Ubiquitous Learning" begins next week Tuesday with a live keynote session starting at 6:00 am Hawaiian time (9:00 am PDT, 12:00 pm EDT, 4:00 pm UT). If
you have logged in to the conference and participated in a live session, you may disregard the rest of this message.

FINAL LIVE TCC TOURS

Sessions held in the TCC Luau Lounge using Elluminate Live

These tours show you how to navigate the conference, highlight some of the key features, and introduce you to the Elluminate Live virtual classroom that will be used for live presentations. There will also be a short,
optional "getting started" orientation to Second Life immediately following the tour. The entire orientation session will be completed within an hour.
To login, find the session you wish to attend in the conference "Schedule." Click on the Schedule link in the left column after entering the conference web site. Then follow the login instructions found there for the
session you wish to attend.
NOTE: You may be prompted to download the Java Web Start application if this is your first time in the Elluminate Live virtual classroom. We recommend logging in about 20-30 minutes early your first time. You will need
SPEAKERS or HEADPHONES; a MICROPHONE is highly recommended, but not required.

LOGGING IN TO THE CONFERENCE
In order to access the site where the TCC Online Conference activities will be taking place, you will need a free LearningTimes Network account, and will need to "join" the TCC 2007 community. To get started, please visit

Click the "Join" link at the above page, and then follow the on-screen instructions to setup your account. If you have NEVER participated in TCC before, or do not have a LearningTimes Network account, please follow "Option
A" and click "continue".
If you HAVE participated before in TCC, or already have a LearningTimes Network account, you may login using "Option B", and use your existing account information.
TIME ZONE NOTE: If you are creating a new account, remember to select the time zone you are in from the pull-down provided, as the conference community will automatically convert all TCC event times into your selected time
zone for your convenience. (This setting can be edited later if necessary.)
TECHNICAL CHECKS
After you have joined and entered the TCC 2007 community, visit the "Technical Checks" link that is located along the left hand side of the Community Area. The tests will help you confirm that your computer is prepared for
the conference.
We strongly urge that you use the same computer as you would for the main conference. If you run into any problems, please email help@learningtimes.net and provide as much detail as possible.

CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
The most current information about session times and descriptions are posted in the conference schedule. If you know the author's name(s) try use the "Search" feature to locate the session.
There are also PDF file copies of the conference schedule that maybe downloaded and printed.

PERSONALIZING YOUR PARTICIPATION
Take a moment to introduce yourself on our conference discussion board. Alternatively, post a short biography and your photo in our Participant Photo Gallery:

Also, add a photo to your profile and put a face to your name. In an online environment, this helps to create a much friendlier, collaborative atmosphere. Do this under the "Edit Profile" area at:
